Welcome Dr. Marco Dominguez Bureos!
Dr. Marco Dominguez Bureos is a Geophysical Engineer who recently started his postdoc in the Q-Fibre project at the Delft University of Technology.
We welcome Marco to the Q-Fibre community and look forward to working with him in the next few years. Marco is a Geophysical Engineer with a Master's in Computational Seismology and a PhD focused on detecting early signs of emerging damage in field-conditioned concrete structures using conventional and non-conventional vibration equipment. As a Postdoctoral researcher at the TU Delft, Marco will conduct advanced lab-scale experiments using Fibre Optic Systems (FOSs) to enhance the understanding of Thermo-Hydro-Mechanical (THM) coupled effects that rocks and cement might undergo during C02 injection and storage. His work aims to broaden the research into benefits of FOSs for monitoring complex THM interactions in solids.
